Plain terms.

1. What this is. Gablebook is a notebook for the history of a house, with a Census Window calculator and a list of places to look. It is unofficial and independent. Not affiliated with Garfield United (Garfield, NJ) or the City of Garfield Heights, Cuyahoga County or the National Archives.
2. Not a legal record. Nothing in a House Book is a title search, a survey, an appraisal, legal advice or proof of ownership. The Census Window follows the National Archives’ 72-year rule; the archives decide what they release and when.
3. Your content. What you write is yours. Write about people with care: a House Book is private, but you choose who gets its link. Do not put in anything you have no right to keep, and do not use a book to store passwords, account numbers or other secrets.
4. Your link. Anyone with a book’s link can read, change and delete the book. Keep it safe. We cannot recover a lost link or open a book without one.
5. Prices. Free; Gablebook Plus $1.95 a month or $19.50 a year; Print Week $1.00 once for seven days. During the preview no payment is taken and everyone gets Plus free. Plans can be cancelled any time and run to the end of the period paid for.
6. Keeping books. A book not opened for two years is deleted. We work to keep the site up and backed up, but keep your own copy of anything that matters (the booklet and CSV export are there for that).
7. Changes. These terms may change; the date of the current version is shown below. Material changes to prices or to what we keep will be shown on the home page first.
